First-Time Users Will Receive $2 Off Each Dozen Purchased

April 30, 2018 // Franchising.com // MECHANICSBURG, PA - Duck Donuts, one of the nation’s fastest growing donut franchises, announced today it is testing online ordering through its website for convenient in-store pickup at select locations. Through a partnership with Olo, the leading online food ordering solution for the restaurant industry, the online ordering experience is seamlessly integrated into the Company’s website and available in Allentown, King of Prussia and Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania; Newark, Delaware; Estero and Kissimmee, Florida; Savannah, Georgia; and Dublin, Ohio. The goal for the made-to-order donut shop is to roll out nationwide by end of 2018.

“Technology has allowed Duck Donuts to align with rapidly advancing trends among consumers, letting our digital savvy customers conveniently fit time for donuts into their busy lives,” said Russ DiGilio, founder and CEO of Duck Donuts Franchising Company. “Part of the Duck Donuts experience is watching your donuts being made right in front of you, but now through online ordering, our customers who are on-the-go have the opportunity to enjoy our warm, delicious and made-to-order donuts without the wait.”

There is no minimum to each order and customers can access the online ordering feature on a computer or mobile device by visiting www.duckdonuts.com. The easy-to-navigate platform allows customers to select the nearest participating location, the desired pickup time and customize their donut order. Customers can conveniently claim their order at the designated pickup area, which was designed to avoid disrupting service or increasing wait times for customers ordering in store. In addition, first-time users will receive $2 off each dozen purchased.

Through online ordering, guests can order menu items including custom donuts, seasonal assortments, OBX Donut Breakfast Sandwich, hot and iced coffee, tea, iced tea and bottled beverages. Orders can be placed and paid for same day pickup or future orders, up to 30 days in advance. Users have the ability to create a login profile to save past orders and easily repeat.

Through its online group order feature, Duck Donuts has made orders from multiple people easy. The simple process includes allowing the host to set a deadline and share a specific link to the members of its flock, allowing them to select and customize their menu items.

Duck Donuts specializes in warm, delicious and made-to-order donuts. Customers can choose from a variety of topping combinations, including traditional favorites such as chocolate icing with sprinkles and more adventurous creations such as maple icing with bacon. The family-friendly stores offer a viewing area where children and adults alike can watch their donuts being made. Duck Donuts also sells coffee, tea, donut breakfast sandwiches and more. About Duck Donuts

Duck Donuts was founded in 2006 by Russ DiGilio in Duck, North Carolina. His intention? To solve a family vacation problem: “Our family wanted a place to buy warm, delicious, made-to-order donuts, and when we couldn’t find one, we decided to start our own.”

By 2011, Duck Donuts had expanded to four Outer Banks locations and the donut business was so successful that DiGilio was continuously approached about franchise opportunities by fans who begged for a Duck Donuts in their community. The first franchise opened in Williamsburg, Virginia, in 2013, and there are now 64 open franchise locations and more than 130 additional contracts in 23 states.
